Another great 1960’s Strand pattern 23 UK production theatre light polished and restored into a stunning home/office floor lamp.

I started on this one the day before the customer emailed me to ask if I had any more Strand 23’s for sale. What great timing. This Strand was taken apart entirely and then polished piece by piece, then carefully re-assembled. A regular bayonet was installed to take household energy saver globes with a cotton weave cable and black on/off switch installed at the customers request. The inner vent covers were painted gold/copper to suit the selected tripod.

A great custom floor lamp and wonderful piece of UK theatre history saved and given a 2nd life.

A 1960′s Strand pattern 23 production theatre light restored into a unique designer Art Deco home/office floor lamp.

This Strand 23 was in exceptionally good condition for its age and has hence polished up brilliantly. Being a 1960’s lamp, I have restored it with an Art Deco (black & white) theme in keeping with its origins.

Over 20 hours of polishing have gone into this piece to produce a flawless mirror finish. The 500watt globe and bayonet have been removed and a regular screw in bayonet installed which now takes regular household energy saver globes. New brown cotton weave AC cable has been installed with an easy inline on/off switch and an earthed AC plug for safety.

Another wonderful UK theatre lamp salvaged and restored into a unique designer investment piece in your home or office.

An original 1970’s production theatre can polished and restored into an original home office floor or table lamp.

These were the work horses of the film and theatre industry. This one has had the original 500watt globe removed and replaced with a regular bayonet for standard energy saver globes, and the can polished up to a high sheen.

It has been mounted on a designer nautical tripod which is height adjustable, allowing you to use it as both a floor or table lamp.

A very cool original tripod floor lamp for your home or office.

A rare 1950’s production theatre light with barn doors and stand, restored and converted into a custom home/office floor lamp.

This is the first of these lamps I have come across. It had no brand labels on it so I cannot confirm it’s origin. It has a large, thick cast aluminium head with metal removable barn doors, and an original adjustable stand on castor wheels. The entire lamp has been stripped back to bare and then machine polished to a rustic vintage industrial finish. The exposed metal has been hard poly coated to prevent rust.

The 500watt globe and bayonet have been removed and it now take regular household energy saver globes. The lamp easily pops open from the front to change the globe. It has an original on/off switch built into the back of the lamp head.

An awesome, rare vintage industrial original, and excellent conversational piece in the home.

Another great 1960’s UK Strand 123 theatre light restored into a unique designer home office floor lamp.

This is the 2nd custom ordered Strand lamp from a Hong Kong based client who’s first order was for the Strand 23 as pictured below. A good choice to have one of each. This 123 is an earlier 60’s model. It has been polished back to a high sheen and the 500watt globe changed out to take regular light globes. Fitted with a Hong Kong power cord, ready for its new off shore home.

Another classic vintage piece of UK commercial theatre history retired to domestic duties in beautiful Hong Kong.

A 1960’s Strand Theatre Light with spot control adjusters, converted into a beautiful custom home/office floor lamp.

Most of the Strand 23 lamps I have restored in the past have had one or more of the spot controllers broken on them and so were removed completely. This one had all four controllers intact so I decided to leave them in for a change. They allow you to adjust the size and shape of the beam.

Polished up to a beautiful mirror finish as usual, and the 500w lamp and bayonet removed and replaced with a regular bayonet now taking household screw in light globes. An easy in/line on/off switch has been installed into the cable and it has been mounted on a new designer chromed timber tripod. The tripod legs are adjustable to the desired height.

Another great piece of UK theatre history preserved and transformed into a unique eye catching designer lamp for the home or office.

An original 1950’s handheld photography light converted into a unique designer home office floor lamp on tripod.

A great conversational piece, these lamps were originally used as handheld lights in photography studio’s. The arms are easily adjustable to the desired position and has an easy on/off switch in the cable with an earthed AC cable. It takes regular screw in energy saver light globes so you can choose the lighting mood for the room.

It has been mounted on a designer solid teak tripod. The legs are collapsible, making it a great table lamp as well. A wonderful vintage industial tripod lamp to give your place that custom designer look.

A 1960’s UK Strand pattern 123 production theatre light, restored into a beautiful custom home/office floor or table lamp.

The lamp and bracket have been polished for over 20 hours to produce a magnificent mirror finish. The 500watt globe has been removed and replaced with a standard screw in bayonet which now takes regular household energy saver light globes. A new cotton weave AC cable and easy inline on/off switch has been installed.

Presented on a classical teak wooden tripod with adjustable legs allowing the lamp to be used as a floor or table lamp. Another great theatre relic restored into a unique investment piece.

The USA Bantam Super Spot is by far one of my favorite vintage theatre lights.

Beautiful and so intricate in design. The main body is made of metal and the front and rear grills made of aluminium giving it a stark contrast when polished. Copper inserts have been installed into the grill recesses and the heat brushes have been 24kt gold coated, adding to the wonderful character of this piece. All of the exposed metal has been poly-coat sealed to prevent rust.

The 500 watt globe has been removed and a screw in bayonet installed to take regular household energy saver globes. A new brown cotton weave AC cable and inline switch have also been installed. It is being presented on a new hand made designer nautical telescope tripod with chromed linkages, and solid teak legs.

This is my last Bantam Super Spot and I have not been able to find any more for quite a while. A beautiful custom restored unique investment piece in your home or office.

Another great UK 1960’s Strand pattern 23 spotlight polished and restored into a unique home/office floor lamp.

This particular piece was custom ordered by the purchaser, selecting both the chrome linkage tripod and the polishing of the inner vent covers which I normally paint.

The results speak for themselves. A dazzling effect indeed. It has been converted to take regular household light globes and an easy on/off switch has been installed.
