35) 1940’s WW2 Copper Search Light

Works by Marsel - Lamp No.35

An original large World War 2 copper search light restored and converted into a stunning home/office floor lamp.

This is my last one, and it may be a while before I find another. An amazingly impressive piece of war memorabilia, these General Electric lamps were used on the out decks of war ships as flood lights. The 1000watt globe and bayonet have been replaced with a regular screw in bayonet which now takes household energy saver globes. The lamp easily pops open from the front to change the globe.

It has been mounted on an original 1960’s Miller professional movie tripod. I chose this tripod becuase it has very strong linkages able to support the massive, heavy lamp head. The lamp and tripod have both been polished up to a rustic sheen, retaining much of the character bumps, knocks, and bruises they have endured over the years.

A rare and beautiful piece of world history in your home or office and a great investment.
