Another great 1970’s Strand pattern 23 theatre light restored into a designer home office lamp.
After polishing up the lamp, I decided to replace the inner vent covers of the lamp with real polished brass inserts to compliment the tripod it is on. Over 20 hours of machine polishing goes into each lamp I restore.
The globe bayonet has been replaced as usual and it now takes regular household screw in globes. A cotton weave cable has also been installed with an easy on/off switch.
Another old theatre relic salvaged and given a second life.

It’s a funny thing how I came to finding this lamp – so bored I was in the search for a ‘new’ floor lamp of mass produced, weak, cold and monotonous store pieces I turned to the net and came across Marsel’s work.
Something simple, unique with a touch of history and passion in it’s restoration that has real function is rare; it has genuine character and presence in any room!
The attention to detail is quite remarkable – each piece compliments the next, right down to the cord you plug it in with.
Thank you again Marsel.
Your welcome Daniel, over 20 hours of polishing goes into my lamps, so I am always glad to hear the work is appreciated.
Marsel.
